You might recall, I love lists. So, as summer approached, just like when Easter vacation approached, I sat down with my peeps and we made a master list of everything we'd like to accomplish over the break... a summer bucket list so to speak ;-) And, in the spirit of if my kids wanna, yours might wanna too... here it is:
Our Summer Fun List 2011
- LATE BED TIME (Mario had this one in all uppercase right at the top)
- Water Gun Fights
- Shopping at Toys R Us, Dollarama & Walmart (kids!)
- Salmonier Nature Park
- Signal Hill
- Manuels River to swim
- Middlecove Beach to skim rocks
- Topsail Beach to swim and play at the playground
- Butterpot Park for a picnic
- Dairy Queen
- Berg's Ice Cream
- Bowring Park playground, waterpark and a walk
- Movies: Cars 2, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Zookeeper
- Sleepovers at grandparents' houses
- Go camping
- Have cousins over for sleepovers
- Have play dates with friends from school
- Go bike riding
- Have a toy-garage sale
- Play spotlight
- Plant a veggie garden
- Plant sunflowers
- Go to the arcade
- Play mini golf
- Go on bumper cars
- Fly kites
- Play family soccer at the park, just the 4 of us
- Thomas Amusements
- Play board games by candle-light
- Eat outside
- Have a lemonade stand
- Celebrate Canada Day
- Go to Regatta
- Do a Nature Hunt
- Feed the ducks at Bowring Park breakfast
- Pippy Park
- Botanical Gardens to look for butterflies
- Make finger puppets
- Get a birdhouse
- Make "glove monsters"
- Play dodge ball
- Play basketball
- Have a water balloon fight
- Go on a plane
There ya go - you'll never be bored again! I gotta wonder if they meant a lifetime of summers when we wrote it ;-)
