Recall - Balea Kids Hair Putty

The following recall notice is from HSW:

 

Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix is voluntarily recalling Balea Kids Hair Putty as a precautionary measure due to potential microbial contamination. The manufacturer has become aware of a potential contamination with Burkholderia cepacia.

The effects of B. cepacia on people vary widely, ranging from no symptoms at all to serious respiratory infections, especially in patients with cystic fibrosis. See  HSW Hazard Details tab for more information.

Corrective Action:While there have been no reported incidents of illness associated with this product, as a precautionary measure customers are asked to immediately discontinue use of Balea Kids Hair Putty and to return it to their local Shoppers Drug Mart store for a refund.
