Health Canada reports of a recall involving the "Hill Blazer" High Performance Metal Frame 3-Ski Snow Sled. The coating on the black frame contains barium in excess of the allowable limit.

Some forms of barium are safely used in medical and commercial applications, while other forms of barium can be toxic, causing adverse health effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and cramps as well as more severe symptoms. Children's toys coated with paint containing barium in excess of the allowable limit are strictly prohibited in Canada.
Recalled "Hill Blazer" 3-Ski sleds were sold across Canada from July 2010 to January 2011.
Corrective Action:Consumers are advised to stop using the "Hill Blazer" 3-Ski sleds and contact ERA Group to receive a free replacement part.
For instructions on how to dismantle the product and return the metal frame for a replacement, consumers may contact ERA Group toll-free at 1-877-972-9273, Monday to Friday from 9AM to 4:30PM EST or by e-mail.
