More importantly.... what is Free Comic Book Day? you ask....
Free Comic Book Day falls on the first Saturday in May each year and is the glorious occasion when participating comic book shops across North America give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes into their stores (while supplies last of course). There are often special editions written and produced just for the occasion. Yes, that is sometimes a marketing gimmick (i.e.: the dreaded to be continued....), but for the most part, you can pick up a few decent comic books - free - and ignite a spark that may just lead to a love of reading.... and that makes it phenomenal in my books!
....Soooo, check this year's comic book selections here, and then visit your favourite local shop to inquire on their participation and title availability!
