What To Do This Weekend - PUMPKINFEST!

We are only a couple of weeks away from every kid's favourite day of the year! Have you decorated for Halloween yet? We have our lights up and our ghoul sign out, and the children have made some fancy sparkly spiders and zombies! I guess that means all we need is a pumpkin...... PUMPKINFEST!!!!

source: Lester's Farm Market
Yep, it's that time of year: Lester's Farm is hosting Pumpkinfest on Saturday from 10-5PM. There will be lots to do and see, in addition to the pumpkins and the petting farm: Revolutions Dance will be performing (at 11AM), there are pie-eating  and hot-pepper-eating contests (noon - 2PM), and there will also be a scarecrow contest (at 3PM)! Head over for some fun and don't forget to pick out your pumpkin before you leave :-)

Also this weekend, as part of the Festival of New Dance, Corpus (your kids know them from 4-Square on Treehouse) will be performing free shows at Atlantic Place (Friday at 12:30 and 2) and the Avalon Mall (Saturday and Sunday at noon and 1:30). The performance pieces will feature two funny, slapstick romps that appeal to children: Les Moutons and A Flock of Flyers.

Clay Cafe has a couple of "spooktacular" Halloween craft sessions you and the kids may wish to take in: Tonight is part one of a spider egg craft and tomorrow night there is an intriguing-sounding Halloween silverware class! (Don't forget to register - details in calendar or on Clay Cafe site in sidebar).

The Family Fun days at Mun Botanical Garden and the Fluvarium Kids Program (this month: Lenny the Leaf) are on their regular schedules this weekend (see calendar) ...

And  - don't forget! - check the calendar (at the bottom of this and every page of the blog) frequently for fun stuff to do every day of the week:  there are several kid friendly, fun activities in town on weekdays (i.e.: Paint Me a Story, Pre-school Story Time and Big Fun for Little Kids), plus farmer's markets and community events! I see a lot of other fun Halloween activities coming up in the next few weeks as well, so stay tuned for details on the Haunted Wagon, Halloween Howl and more!

Have a Good One :-)

NOTE:  According to http://harbourhaunt.com/ Harbour Haunt (at the Village) is postponed due to unforseen circumstances).

For details on events in & around town, check my events calendar regularly - it is on the bottom of EVERY page :-) The Tely Go Guide published in Arts & Life section every Thursday is also a good source.

If you have something to add to the Calendar, please let me know! Complete details can be found here and I welcome being added to any "Events Distribution list" your facility might have :-)
