What To do This Weekend: Halloween Fun!

source
Are you ready for one fantastical spooky pre-Halloween weekend? With everything on the go this weekend, you better be!

The events I am most looking forward to are MUN BOO-tanical's Halloween Howl: children in costume are admitted free both Saturday and Sunday and can join in a special Halloween nature hike with the Education staff to explore the Batty Bat and Halloween Discovery trails, discover why bats, owls, crows, spiders, and even witches’ brooms are not all that scary, view special Halloween displays, and participate in Halloween themed crafts!

Secondly - and I am really looking forward to this one - the GEO Centre has a fantastic set of Halloween demonstrations planned....Children will be able make slime, fake blood, oozing pumpkins and dancing ooblicks (whatever those are ;-).  I haven't been out to the centre in a while, so I can't wait to head over and re-discover the planets, check out those Halloween movies, and browse the gift shop!

And last but not least on my tops list for this weekend: Christmas at the Glacier! Yes, I am talking about Halloween and Christmas in the same post! We all know the Glacier is THE Christmas Craft Fair event of the year.... on now through Sunday :-)

...Speaking of Christmas shopping though.....why not combine some Halloween fun with your shopping this weekend? Two birds with one stone, if you get my drift ;-) CJ Moose is hosting a Spooky Party at this usual spot in the Village Shopping Centre - children are invited to wear their costumes and will enjoy treats and crafts from noon-2PM. At the Avalon Mall, there will be a Halloween Party in Gap Court, also from noon-2 pm. Children are again invited to wear their costumes (have a picture taken in the Halloween stockades!) and there will be a magic show, treats and other activities.

I could go on and on about all the other options you have this weekend (Jack Byrne Arena's Halloween skate followed by their Trunk or Treat; Halloween Flip Animations at the Rooms, Harbour Haunt's Children's Matinees..... ETC!) but that would take forever! See below for a listing of all events this weekend and through the coming week, and don't forget to check my calendar here for more details!
