What To Do This Weekend: PumpkinFest, Torbay Community Market and other Fall Fun!

Well folks, this weekend IS the weekend for PumpkinFest! After last week's delay, the entire schedule is a go for Oct. 20th from 10-5. To avoid the parking hassles, take the Metrobus Park & Ride from the Nalcor parking lot, then head over to the Farm for some Fall Fun ~ corn mazes, contests, entertainment, and... pumpkins, of course!

There is also a big event at the Jack Byrne Arena on Torbay Road on Saturday: the Torbay Community Market. this event will feature over 70 local vendors and crafters, door prizes and demonstrations and there will even be LIVE entertainment from The Masterless Men and Connemara from noon on! 9 AM - 3 PM.

If you haven't been to the Fluvarium yet for their Animal Costumes Kids Program, you can still do so either this Saturday or Sunday. and the GEO Centre has two Halloween themed movies added to their fun filled agenda: "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" for the little tykes and "The Extreme Nature of Bats" in 3D for the older kids (they really do have fun for everyone!). Both are included in admission.

Saturday evening, why not give yourself a break AND entertain the kids at the same time? Pre-register the kids for Journey into Outer Space, this weekend's Parent Survival Night at The Little Gym, and you can do just that! Starts 6 PM Saturday night, call the gym at 754-ROLL for details and availability.

Last but not least, the theme for this Sunday's Family Program at The Rooms is Make a Mask.... children will create their very own masks, just in time for Halloween! 2-4 PM

I also want to highlight 2 upcoming events for the week ahead: Oct 21-27 marks the 10th Annual Ocean Week (check the City of St. John's website here), and..... drum roll please: Christmas at the Glacier is back from Oct 24 - 28 - yep, that's this Wednesday!!!
