Remembrance Day Events Around St. John's

Some of the Remembrance Day ceremonies and events in and around the City this year: 


St. John's:
The Royal Canadian Legion is holding the following events to mark Remembrance Day on Nov. 11: 
8:45 a.m. - Ceremony at the Field of Honour, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. 
9:30 a.m. - Ceremony at the Sergeants' Memorial and Peacekeepers' Memorial on Queen's Road. After the wreath laying at the Sergeants' Memorial and Peacekeepers' Memorial the annual Remembrance Day Parade will begin using the following route: Queen's Road, Church Hill, East Duckworth Street, Cochrane Street and west on Water Street. 
10:40 a.m. - Ceremony at the National War Memorial in St. John's

Mt. Pearl - Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36 Remembrance Day Parade begins at 10:30am on November 11, 2011 from the Church of the Ascension and will travel down Smallwood Drive onto Park Avenue heading east to the Legion Memorial at Park Place Community Centre where the Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place at 11:00am.


Conception Bay South - Remembrance Day Ceremony
November 11, 2011 Remembrance Day Parade forms at 10:00AM at Sobeys in Long Pond. 10:30am Unveiling of four bronze statues at the cenotaph followed by ceremony. Reception following the ceremony at Branch #50 Royal Canadian Legion. Public welcome. (Location: 350 Conception Bay Highway-Cenotaph around corner; contact: Herb Francis 709-834-2331)


Mile One - Ceremonial Puck Drop
November 12, 2011 Time: 19:30 - The St. John's IceCaps will pay tribute to Canada's Veterans with a ceremonial puck drop as they host the Connecticut Whales.
