What To Do This Weekend - Get Physical Indoors or Out!

Well, Folks, I just put a shout-out on Facebook to a number of my usual weekend haunts..... because, to be honest, this weekend is looking quite bare on my calendar!

Now, that said, there are a couple of really good activities to partake in, namely:
  • At Mun this weekend, a new program is starting: Physical Education Program for Children with Intellectual Disabilities. This is a joint initiative by The Special Olympics Newfoundland Labrador team and volunteer students from MUN’s physical education program with the goal to allow children with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to explore movement in a variety of ways. The program is free and will run for 10 weeks. See the calendar for complete details. (Also, check out the listings for Monday the 23rd, as there is a similar program starting at Cygnus that day).
  • Of course, our good friends at The Fluvarium have their Winter Wonders program this month on Saturdays and Sundays. Children will discover how the animals around the Fluvarium can stay warm, safe and find food and everything they need even throughout the winter. Details in calendar or on sidebar at right.
Also, we are forecasted to have a "light snow" tomorrow and Saturday morning.... so, perhaps a walk in Bowring Park will be in order! Or, we could plan it around the Winter Wonders program and enjoy a stroll through Pippy Park afterwards, then hot chocolate at Tim's....

...Hey! That's not a bad plan! I think I'm all set ;-)

Have a good one!
