What To Do This Weekend - Take in a Top Broadway Performance ... Right Here!

Well, folks - it is here!! Oh!Thursday, how I love thee!

Really, it IS one of my favourite days... what with the anticipation of the weekend and all ;-)

And this weekend, there are a couple of things to look forward to:

source
  • Tonight is the opening night of GODSPELL at Gower Street United! GODSPELL is one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, and is brought to NL by  Etcetera Productions (who also brought Seussical and Cats to our stages). The performance is based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, features a sparkling score and many well-loved songs, and draws upon a variety of theatrical traditions to reflect on the life of Jesus and on the universal messages of kindness, tolerance and love. Now through the 25th (tickets at Holy Heart Theatre).
  • On Saturday, welcome the Easter Bunny to town! Amazingly, he will be at both the Village and the Avalon Mall daily starting this Saturday! That is some crazy scheduling - must be practice for all the hopping he'll do at Easter ;-). Also on Saturday, head to the SPCA Flea Market at St.David's Church. This first market of 2012 will include housewares, pet goodies, collectibles, books and more...$1 at the door and all proceeds go to the SPCA :-)
  • The theme for this week's Family Fun program at The Rooms is Sports for all Seasons - Children will have fun while designing and creating sports memorabilia in honour of their favourite sport or team. GO TEAM!
  • Fluvarium Kid's Club Program (theme this month: Wake Up); St. John's Kids Hava Java Playdate and Build a Brick Program continue per regular schedules as well!

And, a heads up.... next weekend there is a Breakfast with the Easter Bunny (Saturday AM); Earth Hour (31st at 8:30) and a new theme will be introduced to the Fluvarium Kid's Club Program!

    Have a Good One!

For details on events in & around town, check my events calendar regularly - it is on the bottom of EVERY page :-) The Tely Go Guide published in Arts & Life section every Thursday is also a good source.

If you have something to add to the Calendar, please let me know! Complete details can be found here and I welcome being added to any "Events Distribution list" your facility might have :-)
