What to do This Weekend - Star gaze and explore farm life!

You know what? This is going to be a fun little weekend in and around St. John's! Not only are we finally expecting some sunny and fairly warm weather, there are all sorts of little things on the go:

In Mt. Pearl, tonight, at the park next to Mt. Pearl City Hall, there is an outdoor showing of "Tangled". Bring a blanket and a non-perishable food item and enjoy it with your favorite peeps! Tomorrow evening, head to the Admiralty House Museum grounds and do some star gazing during the Perseid Meteor Shower!

And don't forget - the 24th Annual Blueberry Festival has begun! On now until the 14th in Brigus.... yummy!

Also, in St. John's itself, as part of the 3rd Annual Folklife Festival there is the Farm Field Day tomorrow at the Experimental Farm on Brookfield Road, and there will be Edible Plant Hikes at  Mun Botanical Gardens on Sunday morning. Staples on Stavanger Dr is hosting an Antique and Classic Car Show (Sat or Sun depending on weather - check calendar). Or, if you prefer to head downtown, visit Eastern Edge and check out the Summer Saunter on Saturday, or the Art Marathon Family Launch on Sunday afternoon. There are also a couple of fundraising events: Ever Green Recycling is having a special day in support of Children’s Wish Foundation of NL on Saturday, and there is an Artists for Africa Silent Auction and Sale to raise funds for famine relief at the Kirk on Queen's Rd on Sunday.

Lester's Farms has begun harvesting crops, their bakery is open and the strawberry u-pick is still available as well....And, of course, all of this is in addition to the regular summer events at Botanical Gardens, Pippy Park, SBTS and other venues.... check my calendar for complete details and links to these and other events in the city (at the bottom of every page on this blog - there are over 25 listings for this weekend alone!).

Have a good one!

For details on events in & around town, check my events calendar regularly - it is on the bottom of EVERY page :-) The Tely Go Guide published in Arts & Life section every Thursday is also a good source.

If you have something to add to the Calendar, please let me know! Complete details can be found here and I welcome being added to any "Events Distribution list" your facility might have :-)
