Health Canada reports of a recall involving "Zip Zap" brand Sleepers by Brecrest Babywear Ltd. Once ignited, the sleepwear can burn rapidly and cause severe burns to large areas of the child's body, resulting in shock and sometimes death.
This recall involves 6 styles of 100% cotton and cotton blend sleepers sold under the brand name "Zip Zap". See HSW Product Details tab for specifics on the affected item.
Units of the recalled sleepers were sold at various retail stores across Canada from August 2009 to November 2011.
Corrective Action:Consumers are advised to stop using the affected sleepwear. If the affected sleepwear was purchased at a Winners' store, consumers should return it to any Winners' store for a full refund.
All other consumers should contact Do-Gree Fashions Ltd. for instructions on receiving a free replacement. Do-Gree can be reached by phone at 1-800-839-8808 or by e-mail.
