Health Canada reports of a recall involving Confetti Maracas Barbell Rattle by Janod. The barbells can split apart and release metal balls that can potentially be ingested, posing a choking hazard.

Health Canada has received one incident report where a 6 months old child broke open a rattle while playing with it.
Affected rattles were sold in various stores across Canada from January 2011 to March 2011.
Corrective Action:Consumers should immediately take the rattles away from children and return them to the place of purchase for a replacement item or a full refund.
